General Information

Middle Florida Baptist Assembly offers over 60 acres for our exploration and adventuring! Fully air-conditioned billeting and classrooms, canoeing, sports fields, and more! Located near Gainesville, Florida, (home of the Gators!), the camp is easy to reach from I-75. We know you will enjoy your training here!

UPDATES

GRADUATION INFO The hotel with the discount is Fairfield Inn in Lake City. Graduation will be outside. It will be warm so dress comfortably and bring a lawn chair. We have a FANTASTIC show planned!!!!! After graduation, parents will be able to view a slide show put together by our photojournalism cadets in the chapel. Please plan to wait there until the cadets have finished the checkout process. We appreciate your cooperation and patience in getting this done. Plan to depart from our site around noon. Reporting Instructions

Report in dress uniform! See the Staff and Facilities Page for reporting location and times. If you are flying in, you will be given the opportunity to change to dress uniform. Please fly in civilian attire.

Make sure that you meet NSCC grooming standards. Males with inappropriate haircuts will be given a "zero" by training staff. Please consult chapter 2 of the Uniform Manual if there is any question of appropriate grooming standards.

Seabag list concerns -- If you are short on uniform items, we can do laundry. (Make sure to bring quarters as shown on the seabag list!) Please contact the COTC immediately if you have other uniform issues and we'll work something out.

FLIGHTS: Please contact the COTC BEFORE booking flights. Cadets may fly into GNV - Gainesville, Florida. Early arrivals may be possible. Again, please contact the COTC FIRST.

If your cadet is at RT or NLCC Basic Orientation, you may send encouraging emails throughout the week (no more than 1 per day, please!) to your cadet. The address will be updated as we get closer to training. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PUT THE CADET'S NAME IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE EMAIL!

Crucial Information

Seabag Lists

All seabag lists are now posted. Cadets who are flying may bring contraband items, electronics, etc., but will check them in to Admin upon arrival.

Please make sure you select the correct seabag list to correspond with your training!!! There are unusual items that need to be brought based on your training syllabus, so read the entire seabag list carefully - in advance so you have time to order the needed items!

Reminder: We are NOT medically friendly, so do not bring medications. If you are on medications, contact the COTC immediately!

2013 Training Courses

NSCC Recruit Training

NSCC cadets will have a positive, yet demanding, experience with RT and will receive the reward of personal growth through completing their first NSCC training. "Motivate me!" If you are ready for a challenge, we are ready to take you to greater heights! REQUIREMENTS: Cadets must have completed BMR chapters and courses as outlined in HQ requirements for 9-day accelerated RT. Cadets must be able to pass the fitness test in order to graduate. Cadets must be 14 or older as of 1 September, or 13 and have been an NLCC cadet who attended Basic Orientation. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Saturday, 3 August, between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $190

RT cadets -- Please print the RT Crucial Knowledge document. STUDY the contents so you can be successful at this accelerated RT! Bring this document with you to training!

NSCC Advanced Culinary Arts

Delve deeper into culinary arts at this advanced culinary course! Cadets will get positive instruction and hands-on experience cooking. We plan to have guest chefs work with us so we can make excellent meals! Making pie from scratch and basic cake decorating will also be covered in this training! This is a fun, team-oriented training so come ready to work hard and work well with others. REQUIREMENTS: Cadets must be 14 or older and have successfully completed recruit training. Cadets with some cooking experience preferred. Please email for a billet. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Saturday, 3 August, between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $190

NSCC Photojournalism

Learn how to tell a story with photos. Commanded by an experienced photographer, cadets will take photos of all activities during training, take portraits, photograph nature and animals, and more. A digital camera is required. A USMC photojournalist with combat experience will be sharing his experiences with these cadets. REQUIREMENTS: Cadets must have successfully completed recruit training and be genuinely interested in photography. Only four billets will be available for this training. Be prepared to work hard and create beautiful photos! Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Saturday, 3 August, between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $190

NSCC Honor Guard/Ceremonial

Experience the privilege of honoring our flag and our current and past service men and women! This course will allow you to learn and improve your color guard skills as well as many other ceremonial activities, including funerals, holiday ceremonies and more. You'll have an amazing wealth of knowledge to take back to your unit and use to be more active in your local community. REQUIREMENTS: Cadets must have successfully completed recruit training. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Saturday, 3 August between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $190

NSCC Field Medicine

Do you have what it takes to save a life in the middle of a combat zone? Find out what the Navy's Medical Team experiences on a daily basis with this NSCC Field Medicine training. You and your team will face eight days of non stop, hands-on patient care while treating combat casualties in the field and your peers in the Cadet Sick Bay. Roll up those sleeves and ready your rifles, it's time to find out what being a "Doc" is all about. Commanded by a U.S. Navy combat-casualty trained nurse, this training is sure to be exciting and challenging!

REQUIREMENTS: Please note this training will be very rigorous. Cadets must be prepared both physically and mentally. Must have graduated Recruit Training, be a full E-2 or higher rank, and be 15 years of age or older (can be waived by DIVO approval). Graduates of an NSCC Basic Medical training are preferred (but not required), as we will be covering a number of complex medical issues and critical care situations. Field Med cadets will be billeted in a GP Medium. Due to the field focus of this training, cadets should bring BDU's only (no NWU's or utilities.) Cadets will still report in dress uniform. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Saturday, 3 August, between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $650

NLCC Advanced Orientation - Land Navigation

Learn about land navigation using a compass, the stars, and other techniques so you'll always know where you are and how to get back! Perfect for those who'd like to know more about USMC and Army field operations. To simulate the rugged environment, cadets attending this training will be housed in a GP Medium. REQUIREMENTS: NLCC cadets must have successfully completed Basic Orientation and be mature enough to focus on details. This training involves water activities so all cadets attending Land Nav must be 3d class swimmers. Parents, please be confident that your child can swim WELL before signing him/her up for this training. Thank you. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Monday, 5 August between 1000 and 1200. Due to the field focus of this training, cadets should bring BDU's only (no NWU's or utilities.) Cadets will still report in dress uniform. DEPOSIT: $140

NLCC Advanced Orientation - Sports and Medicine Training

Experienced NLCC cadets have the opportunity to explore basic medical concepts, sports, and sports medicine. Activities will include a dissection! REQUIREMENTS: NLCC cadets must have successfully completed Basic Orientation. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Monday, 5 August, between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $140

NLCC Basic Orientation

Newer NLCC cadets will have a positive experience with their first training during Basic Orientation. Led by experienced staff cadets, Leaguers will learn all the basics and be on the road to advancement at their home unit. Please note that we are NOT a medically friendly training! Report Monday, 5 August, between 1000 and 1200. DEPOSIT: $140

A limited number of male and female billets are available. Please contact the COTC for more info.

Billets

Due to the quantity of trainings we are conducting, we will be unable to reserve billets. Cadet participation will be confirmed upon receipt of all paperwork and a unit check or money order for the deposit. In short, billets will be given on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. Thanks for your understanding and assistance.

******This is NOT a medically friendly training. Please, no conditions that require monitoring such as asthma or diabetes and no medications nor inhalers. We will be PTing daily and marching distances, so cadets must have passed the PRT at the minimum. ****** Cadets who are on meds or have inhalers at check-in will be sent home unless specifically cleared in advance by the COTC and Medical Officer. If you are taking medications of ANY kind, please contact the COTC prior to sending in your paperwork.

To Apply for Training

1. Read the Welcome Letter.

Additional Welcome Letter for Field Medicine Cadets

2. Email the COTC at info@libertyseacadets.org to make sure a billet is still available. Very few billets remain, and we cannot hold them unless the CO calls the COTC and has money in hand.

3. Print one copy of NSCTNG 003 (Local Orders) and have your commanding officer sign them. Request for Local Training Authority form Put this in the cadet's service record. Send a copy with your money order made to USNSCC for the deposit amount listed by the training.

4. Print and sign the Guidelines for Training form. Put this in the envelope with items in #3.

5. Print and fill out theNSCC Medical History Form NSCADM 020. Put a copy in the envelope with the above items, and put the original in the cadet's Service Record. This must be dated 1 February 2013 or later. Required for the safety of the cadet! NO MEDICATIONS allowed. We are NOT a medically friendly training. Please contact the COTC with questions. Cadets reporting to training with prescription meds will be sent home. Send the other copy to the COTC.

6. Please mail the NSCTNG 001, Guidelines for Training, money order, and NSCADM 020 to the COTC at PO Box 3311, Lake City, FL 32056
